Fairborn Municipal Court and the T.I.P. Program

August 5th, 2010

People charged with Driving Under Suspension (DUS) or Failure to Reinstate in the Fairborn Municipal Court can take advantage of a new program designed to divert cases from the court’s docket and help violators obtain a valid license.  Under the Traffic Intervention Program (TIP), an officer of the court helps people understand what is needed to clear up license problems.  If a defendant becomes valid within 120 days of arraignment,  presents proper insurance and does not have any new driving violations, the charge of driving under suspension or failure to reinstate (both first degree misdemeanors) will be amended to the minor misdemeanor violation of No Operator’s License.

To qualify for the TIP program your license cannot be suspended as a result of OVI (drunk driving), ALS, drug convictions, vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault, hit/run violations, habitual alcoholic designation or court suspension.  Further, no criminal felony or misdemeanor charges can accompany the traffic stop.  There are other restrictions on eligibility and you should talk to a qualified Fairborn Criminal Defense Attorney to see if you may qualify for the TIP program.  The Fairborn Municipal Court,1148 Kauffman Ave, serves Fairborn, Bath Township, Beavercreek and Beavercreek Township. Contact the Fairborn Municipal Court at 937-754-3040 or click HERE to visit the Fairborn Municipal Court’s web site.

Charles M. Rowland II (www.FairbornDUI.com) regularly represents the accused drunk driver in the Fairborn Municipal Court.  Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Reinstate and other traffic cases are handled by Mark Babb (www.MarkBabb.com).  You can contact Fairborn’s criminal defense team at 937-318-1DUI (318-1384).
